Quick Facts

  • Only the calculators mentioned here are accepted for the Math Test - Calculator portion of the test.
  • It is not permitted to use the calculator when working on tests like the Reading, Writing and Language and Math Tests--No Calculator portions, and must put away the calculator aside during these sections that comprise the assessment.
  • You'll be kicked out and your test scores cancelled when you use your calculator to share information during the exam, or to remove test questions or their answers from the testing room.

Calculator Smarts

  • Bring your personal calculator. It's not possible to share one.
  • Don't bring a completely new calculator. Bring a calculator you're familiar with. Learn to take the test using the same calculator you'll use on the day of your test.

Unacceptable Calculators

It is not permitted to use any of the following items as a calculator:

  • Laptops or other computers tablets, mobile phones, smartwatches, wearable technology or smartwatches
  • Models that are able to connect to the Internet are equipped with wireless, Bluetooth and cellular connectivity, video recording and playing, camera, or other smartphone-type features
  • Models that have a computer-style (QWERTY) keypad pen input, pen, or stylus
  • Models that have electric outlets, produce noise or use a paper tape
